busy at last

Wanted to throw together a mini Gemtac Soiree with bridesmaids and girlfriends to glam up the invites and let everyone get to know each other. Sadly, two of my b-maids live across the ocean, one was sick, and one was busy doing the foxtrot last night. Also, the Tacoma 'maid was busy freaking out about her own wedding coming up next week, and we spent half the night on the phone discussing stepkids, flower arrangements, and Hawaiian Airlines.

Anyway, back at my mini-mini Gemtac Soiree, my healthy, non-mainland, non-foxtrotty bridesmaids, my brother, and my commonlaw sister all pitched in to number reply cards and adhere gems, and it was all good! ... Till someone turned over a rock and found 100 more cards that need to be gemmed. I guess that's tonight's work (and leftover pizza is tonight's dinner. Can't beat it.)

S., a one-time Philadelphia resident, talks about Victorino all the time. I personally try to stay away from luncheon meat by any name, but I must say, "Tulip Musubi" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

I normally get into arguments with S. over this kind of behavior (the other day we had a heated argument about whether people taking elementary-level courses in their native language for college credit was cheating; he said no, I shouted What is your problem?!) but I have to say I would have done the same at this particular gas station.

Ua mau ke ea i ka 'aina i ka pono. If I can spell it, so can they.

well, most people would take advantage of the situation too. i'm just disappointed that i haven't gotten to participate in one yet.
