the game of life

Marriage prep, football season, glimpses at my single life (lives!), the upcoming election, and a few recent Sunday homilies have made me start re-examining and gathering my strongest feelings on provocative issues from low-sodium diets to who should walk the dog in this neighborhood at 11:30 p.m. to terrorism to same-sex marriage to the ethics of gender selection. In other words, my mind, as of late, has been a cacophanous mess.

Even if I never have the time to sit down and blog the entire Engaged Encounter, one of these days I am going to go off on the couple they invited to talk to us about "Natural Family Planning." When that duo comes to mind, so does the phrase "a real piece of work." While I'm at it I might as well also detail a few of the political, religious, and otherwise philosophical beliefs I hold that have either evolved through my years of spouting off online, or stayed exactly the same (some of which make me tear up, for various reasons.)

That is going to be one mo-fo of an entry. In the meantime, check out Scott and Cat's Excellent Adventure.

i remember when you were just a zebra with a 400 baud modem addiction. when did we grow up? or did we? when did the world change around us? these are the big, important questions.

i dunno. did we grow up when RM abandoned us all? (hehe.) or maybe when we ventured into web-based chat and got blasted for our saimin etiquette. or maybe it was when we started dating actual people instead of faceless handles. yeah, that must be when.

(or maybe we just never did and we're all pretending.)

we should have a reunion and ponder these things.

i'm kinda fuzzy on the whole subject. i remember the picnics, catching the bus or riding with my cousin. i don't remember much of what we talked about though. curious. there was also the karaoke which is always fun (i try to explain the concept of karaoke rooms to people here, they look at me weirdly).

i like it, the "when the hell did we grow up saimin reunion." i dunno if it's easier for you or me. you actually have to take the time out of your life. me, i have to get on a 12hr flight, which pretty much commits me way in advance.

lol... piece of work sounds about right- I hate when people try and preach about what you should and shouldnʻt do about your reproductive system- ick. Gonna go read your other blog now hehe.

ps: happy to see you on again! :-)
