the trivial pursuits of summer
Hauled my ass out of bed one hour earlier today so that I can get a jump start on things that need getting DONE.
Dressage, for instance (not fancy horsey footwork, just the matter of nailing down a dress for my soon-to-be-wedded self.) Have also been summoned to the family business for some work, after which I can concentrate on what comestible delight I am going to put before my husband-to-be this evening. (I am so glad he will eat Just About Anything, or he would have given up on me long ago.)
All suggestions for tonight welcome - except dishes containing pork chops (three nights in a row would be asking too much), recipes that call for sauces made with milk, and mushroom-heavy entrees.
Kona waits patiently for me to finish breakfast and get my pants on so we can leave. I am slower than frozen-over molasses most mornings, which is why during the SY I have to set my alarm at 5 a.m. to get to work, a 9-minute drive away, by 6:45.

that alarm clock trick. it's nice. i use it too. in fact, i have several backup's too, just in case of power failure or accidentally turn off. i usually set the clock for an hour before i "have" to get up.
