What's a game for boys? What's a play for girls? I seriously think we'd be many steps closer to peace on earth if we'd let the boys have their dolls and give the girls the guns. Think about it.
A dad who will tear a Cabbage Patch Kid away from his son is probably the same dad who won't change a diaper unless his wife is out of town. Kids who play with dolls can be seen emulating the type of care they receive from their own parents - they talk to their "babies" the same way their parents talk to them. They cook for their babies, read to their babies, and sing to their babies. Why would you not want a boy to grow up believing that these are things dads do?
Practicing skills of nurturing and caring for others are essential as the humanities of art and music education, which no one in their right mind would take away from any child. True sissification happens when boys are given no options but to brawl their way out of a situation. What next - give them a club and a loincloth and tell them to go be "real men"?
