craigslist

Sold the DS. A woman with four kids (three foster) wanted it for one of her sons. He paid in allowance denominations - mostly ones and fives. It was really cute.

Also, I unwittingly answered a couple of personal ads. Seriously, I was mostly making fun of the lovelorn, which is not a good idea because they e-mail you back. They could turn out to be genuinely nice ... or a claims-30-looks-40 graduate student with a myspace profile pic that looks like a mugshot and "I'd rather be sailing" for a headline. I got one of each.

But I am jazzed about the DS, mostly that it went to a kid who actually saved up his allowance for it and also a little bit that I feel like I've finally been paid for painting that stupid wall.

:)

You know, I'd never place you with a DS... you seem too book-ish. I'm glad to hear that some traditions never go out of style like saving up money for something you want. I do the same thing, but I get weird looks when I pay for that new video game in loose change.
Dude, did you not learn about the whole online love scene from the Saimin days? You never, never mess around with online personal ads; you always end up getting burned.

well, actually, it wasn't technically mine. it is a long story. it goes something like "finders asked to perform stupid unreasonable tasks like painting a bedroom wall for free KEEPERS, losers who asked you to do it and then went and left their electronics in your house before they moved to the other side of the country, WEEPERS."

oh and saimin? i LIKED the weirdos back then. even the old pervs were harmless.

Yesh. Remind me not to ask you do anything out of the kindness of your heart.
You are the perv... answering personal ads just for kicks. Those are genuine people that lack the interpersonal skills. Ironically, sort of like this. Oh God, I gotta go to the bar tonight...

There is no kindness in my heart, only cold capitalism.

Don't make me start posting the Jainism emails ...

Go ahead, post'em. More work for you and I don't think you've got the stomach for that.
