licensed to wed

That was a terrible movie, by the way - a total and utter waste of John Krasinski. Basically 91 minutes of wanting to slap Mandy Moore clear off the face of the planet.

We got up early today - figured we should get to the licensing office, which opens M-F at 8, by 7:30 to beat any possible lines. I got up at 6, went for a run, and then we were off. Despite taking a few wrong turns (downtown puzzles me) we ended up in the parking lot at 7:20 and killed the 40 minutes playing Brick Breaker (him) and obsessively re-scanning the application to make sure we hadn't missed anything (me). State offices scare me. Forget one document, mis-read one question - you're outta there, if not sent home to fetch the appropriate materials, at least back to the end of a long, unfriendly line.

We actually got the first slot of the day, and the person helping us was brisk but affable. From start to "Do you solemnly swear ...?" we were in there for a total of 10 minutes. And I was pleasantly surprised to learn that all it will take to legally change my name is writing it on the license as we sign it at the end of the ceremony.

Hehehe. I hope the video shows up - I love that ep.

Anyway, as we were waiting in the car, Scott asked if I was excited about the wedding.

"No," I answered. "But I am really excited about us getting married."

:)

Hooray! BTW, got your text and missed you at Jazzercise. I may or may not be there on Monday evening b/c I'm taking my car in for service that day...I'm hoping it'll be ready by that afternoon, but I'm not holding my breath.
