i hearties my smarties

No fix for a bad mood like a successful art period and other forms of The Truly Meaningful Learning Experience. I can't describe how awesome it is to see a student who thinks she "sucks at art" create something she absolutely loves - with a medium previously completely unfamiliar to her. And on the TMLE - 1) first day of intramural flag football is today, and I can hear Buddha, of all people, passing on praise instead of threats out on the field; 2) our counselor has created a fledgling talk-story lunch group, who will spend certain lunch periods discussing current events and relevant topics in a casual, nonthreatening, assessment-free environment. How awesome is that?! Today they're discussing the inauguration. Who knows where this will go?

I even got a bit of very necessary encouragement on my long-ways-off-but-definitely-in-the-works Book Club.

Work is exciting today :)

politics at an early age isn't bad, sure you don't grasp the whole thing but you get the good parts. that's a cool thing.
