yay-cation
My new phone! Hurray for MyFaves, text messaging, internet capability, QWERTY, and most of all, psychos not having my new number. Awesome.
Excitement - finally. FINALLY done with the quarter (and the semester). Finally done with work, work festivities, waking up for work, going to work, being at work, and hurrying away from work to work on other things at home.
I am so excited about tomorrow, Day One of vacation. A few of the 21,000 things on my TDL for tomorrow:
1. mailing things out
2. guerilla xmas shopping
3. finishing Peter Pan
4. wrapping presents
5. watching Peter Pan at DHTThe bulk of the day will be spent on #2, of course, and for this I have done extensive mental prep and logistics planning. Leave EARLY so that parking is not an issue. Ignore temptation to wear cute shoes. Nobody who has put off shopping this long is looking at anyone else's feet. Pack a sandwich so that more time (and cash) can be spent on the cause. Stay completely away from stores that will not help the cause.
Went for a walk this morning around the neighborhood. Lots to look at - who knew there was an art gallery tucked away around the other side of the mountain? That's my other favorite thing about breaks - there is time for exercise with exploration, not just a superrushed workout wherever I can fit one in.
'Kay, off to church, then squeeze in a run before dinner. (I know, what was I just saying about supperrushed workouts ...)

My day on the other hand will look something like this:
1. Dig car out of snow
2. Dig car out of ice
3. Pray it snows enough so my store closes.
If store does close them my day will be:
1. Nap
2. Watch TV
3. Play in snow
4. Nap
and my day looks like this:
1. wake up.
2. take nap in living.
3. watch tv.
4. fall asleep watching tv.
5. go to bed.
it's a tough schedule and i don't know if i'll get it all done but i'm determined to get as much of my list completed.
@v - snow day? i await the weather report.
@d - my heart bleeds for you. your day is almost as tough as mine: shop excessively, then take myself to lunch.
So... how was Peter Pan?
@ mama: Peter Pan was LONG. We couldn't even finish it out. The kids bouncing around in the seats next to us had better staying power. But it was LONG! Two intermissions!
