iggy does jazz

Iggy Jang and John Gallagher of the Honolulu Symphony, on violin and double-bass, get jazzy with the kids (who desperately try to contribute a 2-4 snap-clap, but as you will observe, need a bit of help). Unfortunately, the cam didn't pick up the bass.

This is music education in the schools!

By the way, I am so proud of my little malyshkas, who could answer "Stravinsky" when asked who composed "Firebird." And am so glad that Iggy jumped in and saved them from Sarah Palin-ing themselves when he asked what from what country Stravinsky hailed, and one of them was about to answer "Europe."

that's cool. i don't think we ever had music ed like that. rather it was, here's instruments, make noise. i suppose its a creationistic approach to music. it looks fun.

so uh, what country is stravinsky from then? russia? grr, make me google stuff! ha! i guessed right! sorry, this doesn't make sense to you. i'm stopping now. just so you know, i used my mental skill of tracing lineage with how last names are spelled (first) then i googled to verify. and i'm still typing!!!! ah!
