5 a.m.

This morning I ran past a car whose rear left window was lying in splinters and shards on the roadside. There was a baby seat in the car. The whole thing bummed me out. Imagine 1) having to park on the stream side of the street and then hike it home (wherever that is; could be ten steps, could be a block) with your baby in your arms and 2) carrying baby to the car the next morning and finding ... that. It also made me rethink my morning run. If I refuse to walk the dog at 11 p.m., what the hell am I doing running outside at 5 a.m. when it is just as pitch-black as six hours before? And apparently you can punch out a window and no one will hear or care, so if I screamed bloody murder upon being attacked ...?

I like the morning run because it's cool and quiet. The people out at that hour are odd but friendly. And it really does energize me for the rest of the day. Cons are the darkness + uneven sidewalk + possible unfriendlies. I have pepper spray but again with the darkness. Insert funny mental picture of d_c immobilizing self w/pepper spray, thereby handing self to attacker on silver platter.

K wait that's not actually funny. Ah well.

Almost took the morning off and snoozed for the 30 min allotted for running, til I realized I don't deserve anything resembling a reward yet.

Had a hard time falling asleep last night. Gonna use next football day to re-feng shui the bedroom.

I give you credit for running so early in the morning! I tried doing that, but found it easier for me to go for my walk in the afternoon and go straight to aerobics afterwards. Speaking of which, would you be interested in joining me for aerobics? It's tons of fun. :)

I would totally go! I'm the kind of person that will go to anything like that as long as I have someone to go with. Where and when is your class?
