short week coming up, TG

You know how people say they need a vacation from their vacation? I need a weekend from my weekend.

The main component was, of course, the Engaged Encounter. When I have oh, say, twelve hours to sit down and blog about the experience, I will. I won't make you any sicker than I already made you by reporting the first time that I am more in love now than I was on Friday evening, nor will I post any pictures of us being cute or lovey dovey, because there are none. It was an awesome, but intense, experience.

Today we went with some of Scott's work friends on a tour of the USS Missouri, which I thought would bore me straight out of my mind (I have had zero interest in military history) but which was actually completely fascinating. Because his coworker leads tours on weekends, she was able to give us access to parts of the battleship we might not have seen on a standard tour. View a mess of completely disorganized and largely unedited photos here.

Thennnnnn we went to Aunty Suzie's in Kaneohe for kook soo and a lesson in gao making. Unfortunately we left before the finished product came off the stove.

After a weekend of nonstop eating, WHY am I ravenously hungry? Off to forage, then to snuggle. G'night!

Mmmmm gao! My favorite mochi of all... I make it too- but I do it the lazy way: in the microwave.

Its so sweet that you are in loooooove. thatʻs how it should be! Could you imagine if everyone in the world felt the same way you did? It would be a better place, thatʻs for sure. :-)

If I ever made my own gao it would definitely be the microwave variety. I swear I can't tell the difference. I think everything should be made in the microwave!
