fakin' bake

Yellow cake mix + overripe bananas + chocolate chips = ?

Someone at work planned, for Thursday, a dessert extravaganza thingie that is not supposed to be competitive but for fellowship only. Ha. (I'm down with the fellowship - and with consuming massive amounts of sugar - but I don't believe a female-dominated workplace can hold a dessert thingie without it becoming some kind of bake-off. Or maybe it is only I who can't shut off my competitive valve, I dunno.) In this case, however, I will be content to bring something that doesn't outrightly suck. (You don't know how tempted I was to buy an angelfood cake from the bakery tonight, instead of the eggs and baking powder I originally had on the list.)

Anyway, I found a recipe in my alumni fundraiser cookbook that sounds good (and hopefully has been tested, because I don't have time for a dry run.) The baking doesn't take place till tomorrow night. If I don't eat the whole thing myself, I guess I'll blog it.
