that's right, put your pom-poms down

What is going on? Have people forgotten how to walk, or drive, or both? Speaking of walking, if my calves ever recover from the Great Aloha Racewalk, shmaybe I can make this my third-ever mass movement event (the first ever being Susan G. Komen in '03, I think it was. I actually ran that. I had a hyperactive kid to keep up with.) By the way, ADHD drugs like Ritalin and Adderall are likened to cocaine all the time ... I've seen lots of "success" with Ritalin and then I've seen kids turn into shadows of themselves. It's when caretakers start equating success with shadow-turning that I'm concerend.

Oh, and I decided that she's my Eliza Dushku.

I think that people crossing the street are also to blame. I find that people are not paying attention while they are listening to their Ipod, Talking on the Cell Phone, conversing with another person. I think that people need to be more aware, driving or walking. I do blame drivers more than the pedestrians though.

Pedestrians are definitely at least partially at fault, at least some of the time. (Can you tell I haven't read up on the specifics of each case?) Of course the driver of the lethal weapon (car) should be that much more vigilant ...

you can't expect the unexpected. that's impossible. that's like knowing the unknown. you should just expect people to walk out in front of you if you're driving. or expect drivers not to see you. i.e. i walk with cannon fodder. i walk on the opposite side of people (i don't know) to traffic. traffic coming from left, i walk to the right of them and then switch over. don't worry, i usually take the first hit with friends.
