rooftops shout it out
My brother made me an awesome playlist for the Great Aloha Run yesterday. It started with "We're All in This Together" from "High School Musical" (don't knock it till you've used it as your soundtrack for hitting the pavement with 20,000 other people at 7.20 a.m. on a holiday morn) ... it included a fair amount of ABBA in some form or another, and culminated with "Hollaback Girl," which was so funny because at the stadium, they were passing out bananas.
I'm a pretty solitary person, so I didn't mind - in fact, I enjoyed - doing the GAR alone. I didn't want to keep up with anyone, or to wait for anyone, or even to talk to anyone. It was a great morning. When was the last time I said that?

Don't let the TWO-PLUS HOURS part fool you, it wasn't a walk in the park. I have the aches and pains to prove it.
