MP, ME, miney moe

I'm superlatively tired. My back hurts from sleeping on the couch, my throat hurts from directing grad practice (and funnily enough I feel like I'm not even in charge ... again). And I got this salt crystal today: "Well if you're going to show pictures during the song, it doesn't matter how the kids sound." I beg your pardon? (Can I fire her?)

See, my GLP came up with the idea to run a slideshow (iMovie) of photos taken this year in the background while the kids sing their friendship song. We experimented today and it is LOVELY. It is guaranteed to make parents cry. But my former boss, who is efficient and, to put it nicely, extremely set in her ways, made it known that she thought it was a terrible idea. "No one's going to watch them sing if there's something running in the background. The song should be about THEM."

But it IS. They picked the song, they're singing the song, now it's become the soundtrack to a beautifully-made slideshow of photos of THEM. How is this not about them? My GLP and I are offended - but unwavering. Go us.

Counting down ... oh yeah, still got report cards to finish. "Did you figure out how to use M.E. yet?" ... Eesh, there are SOME things I wish they'd forget I ever said.
