booky goodness?

Mkay, I realize that saying I post food/book/movie reviews is sort of false advertising because I normally just say stuff like "I read these books this month" or "What the hell?! The server told us they've been out of fresh clams since Friday, so why do those guys have a casino appetizer?" but I'll try to be better, especially about what I'm reading - not today, though, today all I have time to say about books is that I am loving the experience of reading The God of Small Things - it is songlike as Hopkins and she (Roy) practices word fusion with even greater fervor, and being a word girl I'm absolutely slayed page after page, but as far as the plot goes, I have no freaking idea what's going on. There. That's my so-far review of TGoST. Also, I tried to read the first page of The First American while I drove to work today. Need I say that wasn't one of my best ideas ever?
